The economic forum of  central Catalonia has given the business award to Lluís Vilà Berengueres, founder of the Vilà Vila group. The award was handed over on the 7th of July, at a ceremony which was held at the 18th meeting of the forum in Kursaal in Manresa. The award, which Vilà has received the 7th installment, intends to recognize those who have driven business development of central Catalonia.

The business project of Lluís Vilà dates back to 1975, after working with machines repairing forest roads and in timber trade using backhoe loaders, he decided to start over alone in Sant Joan de Vilatorrada. There he started a company under the name Excavacions Lluís Vilà, which in 1985 became Excavaciones Vilà Vila. Soon it needed the creation of Enderrocs Vilà Vila, due to the strong need for a specialized company active in the demolition section. His commitment to the environment and his concern for waste management have led to the creation of new companies specialized in recycling and waste management. Today, Vilà Vila is a group of companies which has offices in Osona and Vallès, offering services throughout Catalonia.

The forum of central Catalonia is formed by the PIMEC, CatalunyaCaixa, the Chamber of Commerce of Manresa, The guild of builders of Manresa and Comarca, Dones7, Rotary Club, Manresa + commerce, Funecma, CaixaBank, the metallurgic industry of Bages and Prominería. Their meetings consist of three annual dinners held to promote debates on key aspects of our society. The meeting ended with the delivery of the award to the founder of our company.
